office365Have you been looking for a way to share documents with colleagues? Do your students need to collaborate on shared projects? Check out Office 365 – FREE for all UNMC faculty, staff and students. Office 365 is an online suite featuring Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote, as well as Yammer, Sites and OneDrive (1 TB of HIPAA compliant storage). Because Office 365 is powered by the cloud, you can get to your applications and files from virtually anywhere – PC, Mac, tablets and mobile devices – and they’re always up to date. You can also share them Log in at: https://login.microsoftonline.com/ Or download the mobile apps at: https://products.office.com/en-us/mobile/office You are also eligible to install the latest version of MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Publisher, and Access on up to 5 PCs or Macs. Go to http://www.office.com/teachers (click the “Find out if you’re eligible” link). Ideas for using Office 365 in the classroom: 

  • Writing a group research paper – peers can access the shared document and edit in real time with the ability to see what other group members are writing as well.
  • Presenting work creatively and professionally – students can create and present PowerPoint presentations anywhere at anytime.
  • Course notes with instructor feedback – students can stay organized with OneNote. After taking notes in class, the instructor can access the shared OneNote notebook to monitor progress, provide feedback and/or address misconceptions.
