Boost Your Leadership Skills – Immediately

The rapid pace of health care requires strong, innovative leaders who are ready to shape the future of UNMC. Yet the many pressures faculty members frequently confront today affect their ability to impact an organization. To provide faculty with the critical leadership skills they need to play a meaningful role, UNMC Faculty Development offers iLEAD.

What is iLEAD?

This intensive, one-year program accelerates the growth of faculty’s leadership talents so they can immediately apply their new skills for the immediate advancement of UNMC’s success. iLEAD’s curriculum takes the participant through a leadership journey, an excursion of personal and professional assessment and skill building while fostering individual accountability for leading.

This is a one-year commitment. At the beginning of the program, you’ll evaluate your personal skills, talents and behaviors. Then, building on this knowledge, you’ll attend didactic sessions and practice in simulations and small group exercises. Finally, you’ll apply your newly learned abilities in UNMC-focused projects.

Because of iLEAD’s progressive design, you are required to attend all of the scheduled meetings (including the graduation event) without interruption by traditional work duties.

Who can participate?

Participants in iLEAD are UNMC faculty who have a vested interest and desire to expand their leadership skills. This academy of scholars includes faculty from the Colleges of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy and Public Health, and the College of Allied Health Professions.

How do you join?

To participate in the iLEAD program, you may be nominated by your supervisor or submit your application independently. Enrollment is limited to support a highly interactive program format. For UNMC faculty, there is no fee to participate.

Applications are being accepted for the 2016 – 2017 iLEAD program through Aug. 1, 2016.
